Mediator Code of Conduct

Last updated: April 30, 2026

Pre-Launch Notice

MediationToday is in pre-launch development. This Code of Conduct is a draft placeholder. The finalized Code will be reviewed by ethics counsel for compliance with Florida and other applicable mediation rules before public launch.

Our Commitment to Neutrality

MediationToday is a neutral platform. We do not rank, rate, recommend, or accept payment for placement of any individual mediator. As a mediator listing on the Platform, you are expected to uphold the same standard of neutrality in your practice.

1. Certification & Eligibility

You must hold a current, valid mediator certification from a recognized court or mediation authority in every jurisdiction where you accept matters through the Platform. You agree to keep your credentials current and to notify us promptly of any change in status.

2. Truthful Representations

All information on your profile — biography, credentials, experience, case focus, fees — must be accurate, current, and verifiable. You may not use promotional language that suggests guaranteed outcomes or biased framing (e.g. "best," "top-rated," "guaranteed," or "aggressive").

3. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

You agree to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest to all parties before accepting an engagement, in accordance with the rules of the jurisdictions in which you are certified.

4. Confidentiality

You will treat all information shared during a mediation as confidential, in accordance with applicable mediator privilege rules and your jurisdiction's confidentiality requirements.

5. Responsiveness

When a booking request is sent through the Platform, you agree to respond within 48 hours by accepting, declining, or proposing alternate times. Repeated non-response may result in suspension from the Platform.

6. Fee Transparency

Fees, cancellation policies, and travel charges must be disclosed in your profile and confirmed in writing with parties before any session. Hidden or surprise fees are grounds for removal.

7. Anti-Discrimination

You agree not to refuse mediation services on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability, consistent with applicable law.

8. Reporting Violations

Parties or other mediators who believe a listed mediator is violating this Code may report concerns to hello@mediationtoday.com. All reports are reviewed promptly and treated as confidential.

9. Enforcement

MediationToday reserves the right to suspend or remove any mediator listing that violates this Code, after a fair review. Where a violation involves a breach of your jurisdiction's mediation rules, we may also report the matter to the appropriate authority.
